This is another form of anti-communist propaganda used during the Cold War time period used to appeal towards the kids and get the idea that communism would be defeated and that communism was a overall terrible thing that had to be stopped.
This is a great example of Cold War propaganda and is clearly bias towards kids. The children of this era were being brought up to believe that communism was an enemy and a part of traching them this was exposing them to things such as this.
I agree with you when you say that the children of this era were being brought up to believe that communism was an enemy because if you look back on most of the propaganda from this time it was uusually in the form of comics, short stories or other forms of reading material centered towards children as their primary audience.
This propaganda reflects the fear people had during the Cold War. As you can see, both men look exactly the same except one is wearing a red tie, a Communist color. Even though this serves a great message, it also further promoted the act of comformity by telling everyone, even those who may be communist, to not wear red or else they'll be labelled as a one.
This almost looks like a movie that would have been very sucessful during the cold war. It reminds me of Red Dawn because of the white comments, specifically a dangerous mission...
Kids are the most susceptible, to propaganda like this. Usually the earlier they are taught these things the easier it is to stay with you for the rest of your adult life.
